We are so thankful for our pastor, Brother Todd Ledbetter, and our home church, Calvary Baptist Church in Grandview Texas, without their prayer and support we would not be able to accomplish the things God has called us to do. When we moved to this area, we started looking for a local King James Independent Baptist church and first visited Calvary Baptist Church before the pandemic. As with all churches of the time, it was shut down due to the pandemic. Once everything returned to “normal” so to speak, we once again started visiting our church. After visiting for another month or so we joined and started being active in our church. We started tithing, giving to faith promise missions, helping to reach the neighboring areas through the church outreach. Our pastor asked if we could teach a Sunday School class, so we taught the 4th through 7th grade boys’ class until we started deputation. We had spoken with our pastor about the call God placed on our lives to be missionaries and he counselled with my wife and I, and then in June of 2023 we took our survey trip to Ecuador. In June of 2023 we met with our pastor and several area pastors and prayed with them and asked that their churches would pray for us as we sought God’s will for our lives. We accepted God’s call around October of 2023 and once again sought counsel from our pastor, and after prayerful consideration and counsel from the deacons, they agreed to be our sending church. We are sent out of our local church as this is the biblical model as Paul and Silas as well as the others in Acts were sent out and do not use a mission board or any other organization. As missionaries to Ecuador, we are under the authority of our sending church and as such we are a ministry of our church. We again are so thankful to our church and especially the church secretary as her workload has definitely increased with the burden we have placed on her.
